Rapleys is a multi-disciplinary chartered surveying practice that manages commercial, residential and mixed use properties across the UK. We are in a strong phase of growth following a number of key senior appointments.

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader/Supervisor to manage a team of client accountants, accounts payable, treasury management and credit control personnel. This is an exciting opportunity to develop a career in a fast moving professional environment with a focus on quality of service, strong financial controls and the implementation of a number of new initiatives, including technology projects.

Reporting to the Head of Department, the role is to provide an accounting service to management clients and support to management surveyors on accounting issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management and supervision of circa 10 team members
  • Compliance with RICS Client Money Regulations and other regulatory obligations
  • Full control of a client/property portfolio accounting operations
  • Knowledge and experience of client reporting in various formats
  • Production of Client Statements (and supporting reports) in line with client KPI’s
  • Understanding and agreeing client reporting requirements
  • Service charge reviews & cash reconciliations
  • Control of void liabilities & caps
  • Cashflows & budget variance analysis
  • Liaising with 3rd party auditors
  • Database and Lease administration
  • Understanding and reconciling lease incentives
  • Raising tenant and void demands
  • Treasury management of client money
  • Reconciliation and set-up of incoming property balances
  • Reconciliation and handover of sold property balances
  • Overall responsibility for service charge reconciliation process
  • Attending client meetings
  • Ensure adherence with all internal QA
  • Assisting with queries from internal and external stakeholders, clients, landlords and tenants
  • Liaising with team members to ensure all information is correct and a timely service is provided

Key Skills

  • Strong client accounting experience
  • Experience using a property management system such as Tramps, Yardi, APB, ECS, Horizon
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel and Word Skills
  • Have experience managing and growing a team
  • Be enthusiastic and have excellent attention to detail

The successful candidate will be working with; clients, surveyors, facilities managers, on-site staff, associates, partners, credit control, purchase ledger and treasury.
