Zarina joined Rapleys as a Planner in October 2021, having previously worked within the private sector on a range of retail and purpose-built student accommodation projects. Zarina also has public sector experience, primarily working on householder and minor planning applications for small-scale projects within both an urban and rural context; with a particular focus on householder development within the green belt.

Zarina’s experience has provided a solid foundation in development management, permitted development and building a strong rapport with clients, planning officers and other professionals. In her current role, Zarina creates and maintains trackers for major projects, emerging planning policies and best practice case law and appeal decisions for controversial developments. In addition, Zarina prepares site appraisals, pre-applications and planning applications and assists colleagues with major schemes.

In her role as Planner, Zarina can offer the client reassurance through maintaining consistent contact and monitoring the status of applications and negotiating planning issues throughout the planning process.
