The Residential division, which comprises consultancy and agency teams, is seeking a Graduate Surveyor to join our expanding team. The role is based in London but will also be supporting teams in our Alconbury and Cambridge offices. The role will involve providing development consultancy, valuation and agency advice to our Registered Provider and Private Sector clients. The role involves assisting the consultancy and agency teams in reporting to clients, writing a range of reports and advising on the acquisition and sale of residential development land.

Job purpose

Rapleys Residential division provides development consultancy, valuation and agency advice to a wide range of developers including registered providers, local authorities, private sector developers, private equity and institutional funds. We also have a Charities & Not for Profit Team. The team is currently providing advice on a number of significant urban regeneration projects expansion and new garden village settlements as well as large residential led development projects. The team advises on projects across the UK with support from our offices in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge and Edinburgh. The candidate will have exposure to a wide range of instruction and will have the opportunity to work on projects from start to finish. The main responsibilities / accountabilities will include;

  • Inspecting and measuring properties
  • Undertaking comparable research and analysing key data
  • Producing formal and informal valuation reports
  • Producing detailed residual valuation models on Argus Developer and SDS Proval
  • Providing specialist advice to clients on aspects of affordable housing delivery, including design, tenure type and mix
  • Assisting in relation to agency instructions, including the due diligence, sale preparation, and marketing of properties
  • Assisting the team in achieving targets and growing the business line.

Personal specification

  • RICS Accredited Degree
  • Experience of providing residential development advice preferred, but not essential
  • Knowledge of Affordable Housing would be an advantage
  • Good report writing and communication skills
  • A high degree of IT literacy is essential
  • Clean driving licence.
