Jonathan Bernstein

Jonathan joined Rapleys in January 2024 from Avison Young to head up our Public Sector Development Consultancy offering within our Residential division. He has been practicing since 2009 and has operated in all forms of mixed-use residential-led development and has extensive experience in this field.
Jonathan comes from a multi-disciplinary background and provides a broad range of services to clients. He has acted on a national basis and has advised on land assembly, development feasibility, acquisitions, valuation, development appraisals and complex joint venture initiatives. He has fulfilled numerous remits for public stakeholders including the GLA, Places for London (formerly TfL) and Homes England. His extensive experience also includes advising Manchester City Council in respect of their interests at Airport City North to facilitate commercial development and the Northern Gateway which will deliver circa 1,500 new homes.
Since joining Rapleys he has acted for the London Boroughs of Barnet, Merton, Wandsworth, Richmond, Bexley, Lambeth, Haringey and Croydon. He is currently retained by the Westminster City Council on providing a range of valuation services and development consultancy services. He has also advised Hollybrook, Lidl, Thriving Investments, Incommunities and Stockport Homes.
He has also acted on complex regeneration initiatives, providing a breadth of services, which complement his multi-disciplinary offering. A prime example being at Morden Town Centre, Hendon Hub and a portfolio review on behalf of Incommunities. Each of these encompass a range of skills including feasibility, development appraisals, valuation, viability, strategic assembly and engagement with key stakeholders. All of which ensure that clients receive a cost-effective form of advice that fulfils their varied requirements. Jonathan is also a Registered Valuer.
