Michael is a Chartered Town Planner and joined Rapleys as a Partner within the Planning Division. He holds a First Class Masters Degree in Town and Country Planning and has practiced as a professional planning consultant for over 18 years.
Michael has extensive consultancy experience acting for a wide range of private and public sector clients including national and local housebuilders/developers, strategic land companies, private individuals and commercial investors. He also advises local authorities throughout the United Kingdom on housing, retail, employment and leisure aspects of planning policy.
He has been involved in Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessments, development feasibility studies, regeneration strategies and masterplans for private and public sector organisations. He has also project managed large infrastructure projects on behalf of county councils and contractors.
Michael has a strong track record of promoting sites through the development plan process and securing planning permission for mainstream residential, affordable housing, specialised supported housing, Higher Complex Care, Extra Care, retail, major infrastructure and mixed-use development schemes. He provides planning advice at all stages of the development lifecycle and leads multi-disciplinary teams.
