William joined Rapleys in 2023 following 17 years at The Jockey Club, initially as MD of Jockey Club Estates Ltd and latterly as Group Property Director. In these roles he was responsible for a very wide variety of property related matters including: planning applications and planning policy, giving evidence at several appeals and public inquiries; refurbishments of stadia and other facilities; asset management; residential development; sustainability and renewables.
Among many notable achievements during his time at The Jockey Club, William oversaw the regeneration of the racehorse training grounds at Lambourn, Berkshire; the construction of the award-winning Princess Royal Stand at Cheltenham Racecourse, which opened in 2015; the replacement of the roof on the Duchess Stand at Epsom Downs Racecourse; and a refurbishment programme of the historic Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket, including the installation of a biomass central heating system.
