BREEAM Assessments
Rapleys provides specialist daylight assessments to support BREEAM certification

BREEAM Daylight Assessments
Maximising building performance extends beyond planning compliance. Increasingly, developers and design teams seek to achieve recognised sustainability credentials that demonstrate the environmental quality of their developments. Daylight plays an important role within this process, contributing to occupant wellbeing, energy efficiency and building performance.
Rapleys provides specialist daylight assessments to support BREEAM certification, specifically Hea 01 Natural light, which supersedes 6.1 – Health & Welbeing, Hea 01 Visual comfort. Helping design teams maximise available credits while ensuring daylight performance is considered throughout the design process.
Supporting Sustainable Development
BREEAM encourages buildings that provide high-quality internal environments for occupants. Appropriate daylight provision contributes to improved health and wellbeing, reduced reliance on artificial lighting and enhanced building performance.
Our consultants work collaboratively with architects and sustainability teams to assess proposed designs against the relevant BREEAM criteria and identify opportunities to improve daylight performance where appropriate.
Our Services Include:
- BREEAM daylight assessments
- Early-stage design reviews
- Daylight modelling
- Design optimisation advice
- Assessment reports for BREEAM submissions
- Technical support throughout the certification process
Using advanced 3D modelling software and detailed technical analysis, we provide clear recommendations that help design teams achieve the best possible outcomes without compromising wider project objectives.
Integrated Technical Expertise
Our extensive experience in Daylight & Sunlight consultancy enables us to efficiently combine BREEAM assessments with planning daylight studies, Rights to Light assessments and wider environmental analysis where required.
By integrating these services, clients benefit from a coordinated approach that reduces duplication, improves programme efficiency and ensures design decisions are informed by a comprehensive understanding of natural light performance.
Whether supporting commercial offices, residential developments, education facilities, healthcare projects or mixed-use schemes, Rapleys provides robust technical advice that contributes to sustainable, high-quality developments.
