James has extensive experience in building surveying, with a focus on commercial, industrial, and heritage properties across the East of England. He joined Rapleys in 2025
Throughout his career, he has been involved in a wide range of projects, including the refurbishment of a central Cambridge Ecclesiastical building, a high street office, and a Cat B fitout for a laboratory in Cambridge.
James has delivered over 300 professional building surveying reports, including dilapidations, drone inspection reports, Party Wall Awards, planned preventative maintenance reports, reinstatement cost assessments, schedules of condition, technical due diligence reports, and Level 3 Home Surveys. He has developed expertise in Party Wall work, heritage building conservation, drone surveying (holding an A2 Certificate of Competence), and the assessment of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) Planks.
Committed to site health and safety, James has also qualified as an incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety, demonstrating his focus on ensuring safe working environments and the welfare of those on-site.
James is currently working towards his APC.
