Edward joined Rapleys as an Associate Partner in July 2023, with over 17 years of experience in private and public sector planning.
Having managed projects in various sectors, including general practice planning, masterplanning, housing, offices, industrial, education, energy and infrastructure, Edward brings a broad and valuable range of knowledge and experience to any project. Edward has also been engaged as Expert Witness for three Planning Inquiries relating to residential development over the course of 2022-23.
Edward specialises in unlocking the potential of complex sites through a robust approach to planning strategy and the interpretation of existing and emerging policy implications for new development, securing and delivering robust planning consents. This approach has proved particularly valuable in Edward’s recent work within Westminster City Council, where he has secured consents and continues to be engaged in the delivery on the ground of eight residential schemes within the borough.
Quickly identifying potential problems and solutions related to projects that are often located in constrained urban and suburban sites, Edward co-ordinates large multidisciplinary teams and prepares appropriate strategies and applications for securing valuable consents, often exceeding the client’s initial expectations in terms of development quantum.
