Rapleys takes new London office as it seeks to continue expansion across the UK
5th Nov 2024
London, UK, November 2024 – Rapleys has leased a new London office as it ramps up its workspace portfolio ready for further expansion across the UK.
The strategic property consultancy has taken space at 1-3 Upper James Street off Golden Square on the corner of Upper James Street and Beak Street in the heart of the West End. It follows the acquisition of West End specialist office agency and investment business Mellersh & Harding. The teams from both businesses will be relocating from their existing spaces at the same time.
The office development at Upper James Street has an impressive lobby and unique corner plot with lots of natural light, with flexible floorplates that reflect the modern workplace.
Kate Scholes, Head of Operations at Rapleys, said of the move: “Over the last two years Rapleys has been investing in our people, workplaces and systems to provide a thriving culture across the UK. We have also been growing strategically and our workplaces need to both underpin this investment and facilitate the best possible experience for our people and clients whilst being well-located and having room for further growth. Golden Square is the perfect location as it’s close to numerous transports hubs with a thriving restaurant and social scene, whilst the building itself provides features that our people place value in such as lots of natural light, bike storage, high quality showers and kitchens, well-designed layouts and a lovely outdoors space.”
In the last two years, Rapleys has acquired five businesses and added more than 15 partner level hires with further appointments across all levels and regions. In parallel over this period it has opened a new national hub workspace in Birmingham, a new office in Cambridge and launched a unique People Plan that focuses on the removal of core hours from people’s working practices to facilitate greater flexibility over when in the workday people chose to focus their hours, A personal development and learning programme was created for each employee and the rewards system was overhauled to focus on a number of considerations and recognitions rather than only performance based bonuses. This has contributed to the rise in recruitment at the partnership, which has employees based out of Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Huntingdon, London and Manchester.
Rapleys advised itself on the deal.
