UK, MAY 2024 – Strategic property consultancy Rapleys has grown its Building Consultancy team in Birmingham with the hire of a new Associate Building Surveyor and a Surveyor.
Mark Rasheed joins the Birmingham team at Associate level, having previously worked in London in the commercial, retail and residential sectors. Mark’s experience includes contract administration and project management, as well as delivering professional services such as building surveys and dilapidations assessments for a variety of clients. Having previously worked for a large Housing Association, Mark led the acquisition process of properties to be purchased and refurbished for Not For Profit organisations to house vulnerable residents, which fits in well with Rapleys Housing and NFP sectors.
Alice Barker joins as Surveyor, from Bailey Garner where she worked for three and a half years. She brings with her experience in undertaking schedules of condition, building surveys, planned preventative maintenance schedules, damp and mould surveys and reinstatement cost assessments. She also has experience in acting as contract administrator on projects ranging from £30,000 to over £1 million in value and in supporting local authorities with planned maintenance programmes, taking them from feasibility through to project delivery.
The team in Birmingham has grown considerably since the new office was launched in 2023 with Richard Crow, Partner leading Building Surveying, and Jason Mound, Partner leading Land Development Project Management which in itself recently launched a new Utilities Consulting team with Brittany Marsland, Associate, and Shaun Butcher, Consultant, joining.
Justin Tuckwell, Managing Partner at Rapleys, said: “We continue to grow Building Consultancy both nationally and regionally, adding new services and strengthening core disciplines such as Building Surveying. It is great to see the team in Birmingham grow alongside our more established teams in London, Bristol and Manchester and we will continue to hire talent in all of those locations.”
Rapleys Building Consultancy team was last week appointed on to two public sector frameworks by Pagabo and to the Healthy Homes framework by CHIC, as well as hiring a new national Head of Project Management and Cost Consultancy and a new Head of Building Consultancy in Cambridge.
