The project
Sandy Road, Potton is a new residential development with the construction of 125x Dwellings.
The client is required to lay a new drainage main from the development, running down the existing road (Sandy Road) and connect onto the existing Anglian Wastewater main.
Laying the new drainage main down Sandy Road has the potential to affect other existing utilities with Sandy Road, including a Gas IP main.
Our solution
The first step on making this element of works go as smoothly as possible was getting a PAS128 survey done to accurately find the location and depth of all existing utility asset in Sandy Road.
This data was then put on a site plan along with the proposed location of the new drainage main. This was then reviewed to view potential clashes along the route.
After meetings and collaboration with the utility companies, discussing safety and ways of workings around existing assets. we have been able to get confirmation and agreement on the proposed route of the new main.
