The project
Rapleys were instructed by Moto Hospitality Limited to submit a full planning application for the construction and operation of a Photovoltaic (‘PV’) Solar Farm with potential capacity up to 7.15MW.
The application site relates to Moto Donington Park and has been selected in order to provide crucially important infrastructure to support charging of electric vehicles at the services. The proposal forms part of a wider programme by Moto to reduce carbon emissions and assist the UK in reaching their net zero targets. Rapleys were required to take the proposal through the planning process.
Following planning submission in December 2023, the scheme underwent an extensive review, which included input from the Council, statutory consultees, and the general public, eventually resulting in a mutually agreeable scheme for all parties. The application was presented before North West Leicestershire District Council Planning Committee in April 2025, and received unanimous approval from local Councillors, which both Moto and Rapleys were delighted with. This excellent result was testament to the hard work and devotion put in from our planning team.
