The project

This project was for the construction of a mixed use residential and commercial unit on the energetic Tower Bridge Road, which is a short walk from London Bridge station.

The infill development comprises two multi-storey blocks, providing 9 apartments and a ground floor commercial unit.  The development is within close proximity to a number of neighbouring properties meaning a lot of expectations had to be met as well as discreet sensitivities to contend with.

Our solution

Rapleys were engaged to deal with Party Wall matters.  We reviewed, proposed and gave advice on the obligations arising from the Party Wall Act.  We undertook a two-phase approach in relation to the demolition and construction phases.

Rapleys served notice on 22 Adjoining Owners, undertook 23 Schedule of Conditions and then drafted, negotiated and published 28 Party Wall Awards.

We advised and consulted on best practice and approach with the design team on various challenges throughout the project.
