The project
New build development of 36nr houses (S106) as part of a 90-unit development, including 29 affordable rent and 7 shared ownerships. The role incorporated further services to perform quality inspections at fortnightly intervals as part of a Clerk of Works instruction.
Contract Administration and Clerk of Works duties included stakeholder management, site inspections, quality control and client liaison.
Our solution
- Specification of finishes was re-visited, and value engineered. As a result, there was an overall saving at final account.
- Contractor mistakenly undertook finishing works to shared ownership houses to the same specification as affordable rent. This was identified by quality inspections and resolved without programme impact.
- Dry summer caused excessive dust which impacted neighbouring car sales business. 100m2 scaffold barrier erected to protect car sales forecourt.
