Rapleys was instructed to advise on 60 new residential units and associated infrastructure for a site located along Shefford Road, Meppershall.
Rapleys was appointed to act as a Services Coordinator for the scheme. We obtained, checked and challenged the S278 service diversion quotes from incumbent service providers, and against scheme designs.
We acted as a technical interface in all matters in relation to the design, legal agreements, programming and laying of proposed services. Our co-ordination with the multi utility provider ensured a timely delivery against the client’s overall programme.
Other duties were to obtain and arrange service disconnections to existing properties and the co -ordination of existing and proposed services, with the wider above and below ground infrastructure.
A key success on this project was the management and co-ordination of the services works required at the S278 highway access works. With the diversion of existing apparatus and laying of proposed services at the principle access to the site this required careful programming. Rapleys led discussions with service providers and contractors and devised a programme of works to ensure a successful outcome, this resulted in both a programme and cost saving to the client.
