The project
Rapleys Housing Consultancy was appointed by Cannock Chase District Council via the Fusion 21 Framework in October 2022 to complete stock condition surveys and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) to 1,051 dwellings and 76 blocks within their portfolio.
The objective of the survey was to provide an independent opinion of the 30-year profile of re investment required for the properties, to provide data for future asset management and inform options for delivery of energy efficiency improvements.
The surveys were completed using Rapleys iPads using Rapleys bespoke stock condition survey application, including photographic schedules, Decent Homes and HHSRS data. All survey data was provided in a format to enable seamless migration into our client’s NEC Housing Management database.
Rapleys reviewed and amended the existing survey form design and schedules of rates to ensure Best Practice outcomes as part of our mobilisation activities. We undertook early resident engagement activities to raise awareness of the survey in our client’s communities and to maximise access for our surveys.
Commencing surveys in December 2022 we completed over 750 stock condition surveys and EPCs in March 2023 as planned. Our expert survey and Resident Liaison teams worked tirelessly to proactively book
appointments with residents throughout the project. On completion, we provided our client with comprehensive reports, all survey data in a tested format, photographic schedules and EPCs.
Rapleys commitment to maximising Social Value outcomes on all our projects was demonstrated by provision of work experience with our client’s staff and two presentations to a local Further Education College to highlight surveying as a career path.
