The project
New-build development of green belt, providing 75 apartments within an extra care facility and 27 bungalows. A mixed tenure comprising affordable rent and shared ownership units, with a specification aimed at the later living and vulnerable demographic. This facility was the first of its type on the Isle of Wight and one of the largest residential blocks on the island. On site amenities, including salon, 24hr reception, dining hall, fitness room and communal lounge.
Project Management duties included stakeholder management, site inspections, quality control and client liaison.
Our solution
- The first facility of this size built on the island, with an island-based contractor and workforce.
- Sloping site with basement level introduced to rear of extra care building.
- Infrastructure completed to serve this development and two further developments on neighbouring parcels of land.
- Reconfiguration of the entrance highway to circumvent a ransom strip of land.
