The project
Rapleys was appointed as Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveyors and Planning Consultant by The Jockey Club for a stables rebuild and flood defence project at Huntingdon Racecourse.
The works comprised of the construction of 34 new stables, 4 tack rooms, below ground drainage systems and resurfacing works. The stables were then protected by a flood wall, flood gate and off-site attenuation area.
The works were carried out in challenging weather conditions and the stables were made available for several race events during the course of the project.
