The project
Our national town planning team have won consent for client Lok’nStore for a storage facility in Bolton. Key driver for the client was securing the earliest possible consent for a unit that was big enough to be commercially viable.
Working with the client and Hale Architecture, we submitted an application for an 86,100 sq ft four-storey commercial development, bringing high-quality modern development to a long vacant but prominent gateway location, contributing to the regeneration of Bolton town centre.
Our solution
- Worked closely with the client in negotiation with the landowner and the planning authority prior to submitting the application to agree as many matters as possible
- Liaising with the local authority, client and project team to collectively ensure that matters raised during planning application were addressed as quickly as possible
- Planning application was presented to the planning committee and granted consent with the 13 week determination timescale
